Recognize Lexie Lee for the DFW Directors Supreme Service Award Director of Parks, Recreation and Special Events Shannon Goodman presented this award to former Parks Board Member and community volunteer Lexie Lee. Recognize members of the Weatherford Police Department for the following annual awards: Officer of the Year Paul Tumlin, Telecommunicator of the Year Kevin Edwards, Civilian of the Year Tina Maxwell, Volunteer of the Year Kent Mars, and Supervisor of the Year David Foreman. Police Chief Lance Arnold recognized these individuals for their accomplishments and contributions.
Consent agenda, approved as one vote (5-0, on the motion of Jeff Robinson, second by Curtis Tucker): Authorized the Weatherford Police Department to apply for Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant funding offered from the Texas Department of Transportation and approved Resolution R2020-05 authorizing the City Manager to execute in the name of the City of Weatherford all necessary applications, contracts, and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes of the grant. Approved Ordinance O2020-12 amending the FY20 Adopted General City Budget. Approved the Water and Wastewater Utility Service Policy and adoption of Ordinance O2020- 11, amending elements of Title IX, Chapter 8 of the City Code of Weatherford. Adopted Resolution R2020-06 ordering the May 2, 2020 Special Election to fill a vacancy (Place 3), authorizing the Mayor to execute the “Notice of Special Election”, and authorizing the Mayor to contract with the Parker County Elections Administrator to administer early and Election Day voting. Appointed City Manager James Hotopp to the Ex-Officio seat, previously held by Sharon Hayes, on the Weatherford Economic Development Board. Reappointed Luke Haynes to the Building and Standards Commission; and reappointed Kwin Smith to the Zoning Board of Adjustments. Accepted the Weatherford Police Department Annual Contact Report for 2019.
