Tuesday: It's Election Day in Parker County, and polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Why it matters. Today is the last day to vote in the Texas general election. Any registered Parker County voter can use any of the county's Election Day sites, and the county posts results on its Election Results page after polls close.

Monday night's storms have cleared, and the weather service expects a sunny, breezy day. The Kangaroos close the regular season Thursday at Arlington.

Parker County's adopted 2026-27 budget: $3,086,126 more in property taxes per the cover page

The cover page filed with the county clerk Sept. 28 says the budget raises 3.7 percent more in property taxes than last year's, 92 percent of it from new property, at a rate equal to the no-new-revenue rate; the five-member court is recorded as For. The detail report generated Sept. 29 totals $106,016,295 for the General Fund and $42,637,390 for the Sheriff's Office.

The order on the county's site levies $0.185698 for the general fund and $0.049162 for the lateral road fund, plus $0.049859 for debt; all five members signed as For. The order is dated Sept. 28; the notice had set the vote for Sept. 22.

The council's Oct. 13 votes were not on the city's Granicus archive the morning after, so items from that agenda are listed as proposed.
