Parker County's 2026 tax rate: $0.284719 per $100, per the posted Order 26-42
The order on the county's site levies $0.185698 for the general fund and $0.049162 for the lateral road fund, plus $0.049859 for debt; all five members signed as For. The order is dated Sept. 28; the notice had set the vote for Sept. 22.
Parker County's tax rate for the 2026 tax year is $0.284719 per $100 of taxable value, according to Order 26-42, posted on the county's Financial Transparency page as the 2026-2027 Order Ratifying and Levying Ad Valorem Taxes for County Funds. The order levies a general fund rate of $0.185698 and a lateral road fund rate of $0.049162 for current expenses, and a general fund rate of $0.049859 for interest and sinking on county bonds, with a lateral road fund debt rate of $0.0; the three sum to the $0.284719 total the order states.
The order says the meeting was held on the 28th day of September 2026, on a motion by Commissioner Walden seconded by Commissioner Holt, and the adoption block repeats that date. County Judge Pat Deen and Commissioners George Conley, Jacob Holt, Larry Walden and Mike Hale each signed the order with For marked. The order states that this year's levy to fund maintenance and operations exceeds last year's, that the rate will effectively be raised by 1.64 percent, and that it will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $6.25.
The county's Notice of Meeting to Vote on Tax Rate had proposed $0.28471930 per $100, equal to the no-new-revenue rate of $0.28471930 and below the voter-approval rate of $0.31814400, and said the county was not proposing to increase property taxes for the 2026 tax year; it set the public meeting to vote for Sept. 22, 2026 at 9 a.m. at the courthouse. Its table compares last year's rate of $0.28507000 with $0.28471930, a decrease of 0.12 percent; the average homestead taxable value of $362,966 with $373,278, an increase of 2.84 percent; the tax on the average homestead of $1,034.71 with $1,062.79, an increase of $28.08 or 2.71 percent; and the total levy on all properties of $74,545,819 with $76,540,523. The notice lists Conley, Holt, Deen, Hale and Walden as For the proposal and none against. A Taxpayer Impact Statement posted with the order puts the median-valued homestead's taxes at $980.30 under the proposed budget against $957.89 in the current fiscal year.
Basis: the order (a scanned PDF, read by OCR and checked against the page images for the date, the rates and the five For marks), the notice and the impact statement, all on the county's Financial Transparency page, read Oct. 2, 2026. The Ledger did not review the adopted budget document beyond its detail report, and the Commissioners Court minutes for September are not posted on the county's Agenda Center, which lists nothing after Apr. 30, 2026. The difference between the notice's meeting date and the order's is stated as the documents give it.
