About the Ledger

The Weatherford Ledger is a free morning newsletter and public-records site for Weatherford and the unincorporated parts of the Weatherford ISD footprint, plus the Parker County government that serves the whole county from the courthouse in Weatherford. Hudson Oaks, Willow Park and the Annettas are covered by the Ledger's Aledo edition. It launched in September 2026.

What it does

It keeps the record. Agendas before meetings, decisions after them, and the permits, plats, tax rates and business filings that show what a fast-growing town is becoming, pulled from the public sources that publish them and checked by an editor before they go out.

What it does not do

It does not replace the Weatherford Democrat, the county's newspaper, which the Ledger links to whenever it has the fuller story, or the Fort Worth Report, or the city's, the district's and the county's own channels. It does not run arrest logs. It does not publish anonymous accusations. It does not generate quotes.

Who owns it

Chris Weaver, a Parker County resident, airline captain and Air Force veteran, is the publisher. The Weatherford Ledger is owned and published by Weaver Media Group, which also publishes The Aledo Ledger for the east side of the county. The Weatherford Ledger is owned and published by Weaver Media Group. Its publisher, Christopher Weaver, lives in east Parker County. Sponsors never see a story before it runs and never decide what runs.

How it is made

Every quotation is taken from a document or recording we can point to. The full list of sources, with each one's update cadence and verification status, is in the data archive.

Standards

  • Every factual claim links to its source. If the record is silent, the entry says so.
  • Projections are labeled as projections. Estimates are labeled as estimates.
  • Corrections run at the top of the next edition and on the corrections page, and the original entry is updated with a note.
  • Sponsors are labeled. They never see an entry before it runs and never decide what runs.
