Who governs, and when they meet

  • Weatherford is the Parker County seat. The city council (a mayor and four places, elected at large) meets the second and fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 303 Palo Pinto St.; the Weatherford ISD board generally meets the second Monday, open session at 7 p.m., at 1100 Longhorn Dr.; the Parker County Commissioners Court meets at 9 a.m. at the courthouse on the square. What you pay

  • Three units tax a home inside the city: the City of Weatherford, Weatherford ISD and Parker County, plus Weatherford College's junior college district. The district adopted $0.9342 per $100 for 2026-27 on Sept. 14, 2026; the city's proposed FY27 rate is $0.392246, equal to last year's, per the Aug. 25 council minutes. Utilities

  • Weatherford owns its electric utility and its water and wastewater systems; the Municipal Utility Board oversees them and the council sets rates. New service, bills and outages run through the city; the city's main number is (817) 598-4000.
