2.a: Discuss and consider the appointment of a Chair and Vice Chair. After discussion, on the motion of John Hinton, second by Zachary Cray, the Commission voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Joshua Tarbay as Chair and John Hinton as Vice Chair of the Commission. The motion carried 6 - 0.
4.a: Hold a PUBLIC HEARING to review a request for a conditional use permit for a Liquor Store greater than 5,000 sq. ft. use on an approximate .309-acre tract being generally located at 1015 North Main St., City of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. CUP-26-0002. Planner Sergio Baeza presented a Conditional Use Permit request for a Liquor Store greater than 5,000 square feet at 1015 North Main Street, submitted by applicant Prabin KC. Chair Dr. Joshua Tarbay opened the Public Hearing at 2:36 p.m. With no public comments received, Chair Tarbay closed the Public Hearing at 2:37 p.m. On the motion of Sharon Hayes, second by John Hinton, the Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the conditional use permit as presented, with the following conditions: 1. Temporary signs shall not be permitted on the property. 2. Property shall be limited to 3 permanent wall signs. 3. No trim lights shall be placed around windows. 4. No window signs other than an "Open" and "Hours of Operation" signs shall be permitted on the property. 5. No security bars on windows or doors. The motion carried 6 - 0. PZC03112026 Page 1 of 2
5.a: General Plan Discussion Director of Development Services Scott McDonald presented an overview of the City’s General Plan, adopted in January 2018, and explained that the plan serves as the guiding policy for development and infrastructure decisions. He highlighted the plan’s core elements and supporting master plans, including the Master Thoroughfare Plan, Water and Wastewater Master Plan, Parks & Recreation Master Plan, and the Downtown Action Plan. Mr. McDonald reviewed the implementation strategy carried out through the annual budget, Capital Improvement Program, Zoning and Development Code, and incentive tools such as Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones and Chapter 380 agreements. He reported the General Plan is available to the public on the City’s website at: https://weather fordtx.gov/1807/General-Plan
