3.a: Hold a PUBLIC HEARING to consider a request for a conditional use permit regarding Hotel/Motel use on a 0.517-acre tract of land located at 117 College Avenue, City of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. CUP-26-0004. Senior Planner Monica Johnson presented a request for a conditional use permit for the Cotten Bratton Hotel at 117 College Avenue, submitted by applicant Matt Hughes. • Applicant Matt Hughes gave a brief presentation related to the project and plans. Chair Tarbay opened the Public Hearing at 2:46 p.m. With no comments received, Chair Tarbay closed the Public Hearing at 2:47 p.m. On the motion of Wayne Garrett, second by John Hinton, the Commission voted 6 – 0 to recommend approval of the conditional use permit request as presented and subject to the following conditions: 1. Landscape screening shall be installed and maintained along portions of the eastern and western and all of the southern elevations of the hotel structure as depicted on the approved plans. 2. The exterior shipping container structures shall be painted to be in compliance with the zoning ordinance. 3. Murals, artwork, and other decorative paintings shall not be permitted or allowed on the shipping containers. 4. In the event the hotel use ceases operation for a period of one hundred eighty (180) consecutive days or more, all shipping container structures shall be removed from the property [...]
3.b: Hold a PUBLIC HEARING and consider a request for a General Plan and Zoning Map Amendment from (AG) Agriculture to (C1) General Commercial with a Conditional Use Permit for a Contractor Office/Facility w/outside storage including vehicles use on an approximate 4.569-acre tract being located at 1798 NW Ric Williamson, City of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. ZCH-26-0008 & CUP-26-0005. Chair Tarbay announced that this item would be postponed to the July 8, 2026, Planning and Zoning Meeting and the July 28, 2026, City Council Meeting. Chair Tarbay opened the Public Hearing at 2:48 p.m. With no comments received, Chair Tarbay closed the Public Hearing at 2:49 p.m. No action was taken.
3.c: Hold a PUBLIC HEARING and consider a request for a Zoning Map Amendment from C1 General Commercial to R1 One-Family Residential on an approximate 0.459-acre tract being located at 202 South Tower Street, City of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. ZCH-26-0009. Senior Planner Monica Johnson presented a request for a Zoning Map Amendment at 202 S. Tower Street, submitted by applicant Debbie Howard. Chair Tarbay opened the Public Hearing at 2:51 p.m. With no comments received, Chair Tarbay closed the Public Hearing at 2:52 p.m. On the motion of John Hinton, second by Sharon Hayes, the Commission voted 6 – 0 to recommend approval of the Zoning Map Amendment request as presented.
3.d: Hold a PUBLIC HEARING and consider a request for a General Plan and Zoning Map Amendment from C1 General Commercial to R1 One-Family Residential on an approximate 0.226 -acre tract being located at 114 South Tower Street, City of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. ZCH-26-0009. Senior Planner Monica Johnson presented a request for a General Plan and Zoning Map Amendment at 114 S. Tower Street, submitted by applicant Debbie Howard. Chair Tarbay opened the Public Hearing at 2:54 p.m. With no comments received, Chair Tarbay closed the Public Hearing at 2:55 p.m. On the motion of John Hinton, second by Wayne Garrett, the Commission voted 6 – 0 to recommend approval of the General Plan and Zoning Map Amendment request as presented.
