25 Year Service Award - Malinda Nowell City Manager James Hotopp presented this award to City Secretary Malinda Nowell. Recognize Nathaniel Thomas and Raymond Withers with Troop 76 for their Eagle Scout Projects at Camp Holland. Assistant Director of Parks, Recreation, and Special Events Jaycob Kirkpatrick recognized Mr. Thomas and Mr. Withers.
Consent agenda, approved as one vote (5-0, on the motion of Heidi Wilder, second by Kevin Cleveland): Approved the minutes of the City Council meeting held April 26, 2022. Accepted the annual "Red Flag" Identity Theft Prevention Program report. Accepted the FY22 2nd Quarter Investment Report for quarter ended March 31, 2022. Approved the purchase of six 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe police patrol vehicles in an amount not to exceed $216,720 from Caldwell Country Chevrolet through the Tarrant County Cooperative competitive bid contract #2020-174.
Receive a report, discuss, and consider approval of Resolution R2022-16 setting a public hearing on the adoption of roadway impact fees. Director of Capital Projects Chad Marbut presented this item. Mr. Marbut introduced the City's consultant Jeff Whitacre. Discussion included redevelopment, infill, and that fee will be assessed at the platting stage and collected at the permitting stage. Staff recommended approval of Resolution R2022-16 setting a public hearing on June 14, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. regarding the adoption of roadway impact fees. On the motion of Heidi Wilder, second by Kevin Cleveland, the Council voted unanimously to approve this item. Motion carried 5 - 0.
Weatherford Public Safety Unmanned Aircraft System (Drone) Program Commander Jason Hayes presented this report which was for informational purposes only; no action was required or taken. Commander Hayes asked the Council to think about possible names for one of the larger drones used by the Police Department.
