Proclamation recognizing the Twentieth Century Club. Mayor Paschall presented the proclamation to members of the Twentieth Century Club. Recognize Parker County Crime Stoppers for being awarded the Productivity Award for Greatest Dollar Recovery at the 31st Annual Texas Crime Stoppers Conference. Chief Arnold recognized representatives of Parker County Crime Stoppers. Recognize Senior Animal Control Officer Joseph Davis for 15 years of service to the City of Weatherford. Director of Municipal and Community Services Dustin Deel recognized Animal Control Officer Joe Davis for 15 years of service. Employee highlight video featuring Eric Shumar from the Municipal and Community Services Department. Director of Communications and Marketing Blake Rexroat presented this employee highlight video.
Consent agenda, approved as one vote (3-0, on the motion of Kevin Cleveland, second by Jeff Robinson): Appointed John Thomas to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; appointed Brian McKeown to the Planning and Zoning Commission; reappointed Martha Hungate to the Library Board; reappointed Allen Beadel, Jeff Brazzell and Debbie Browder to the Weatherford Housing Authority; reappointed Jamie Bodiford, Chris Burke and Ron Chandler to the Historic Preservation Commission; and reappointed Faye Maxwell to the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee. Adopted Ordinance O2020-14, and approved the Industrial Pretreatment Program - TCEQ Streamlining Rule Update. The ordinance was captioned as follows: ORDINANCE NO. O2020-14 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEATHERFORD, TEXAS AMENDING TITLE VIII, CHAPTER 3C, OF THE CITY CODE OF WEATHERFORD IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Approved a request to assign the existing Lake Weatherford Marina Lease agreement. Awarded bid #2020-005-annual plastic bags for plastic bags to Houston Poly Bag based on lowest and most responsive overall bid that complied with requirements for an amount not to exceed $89,980.
Receive Certification of Unopposed Candidate for Weatherford City Council Place No. 3 and consider adoption of Resolution R2020-08 cancelling the May 2, 2020 Special Election and declaring unopposed candidate Matt Ticzkus elected. City Secretary Malinda Nowell presented this item. On the motion of Jeff Robinson, second by Kevin Cleveland, the Council voted to approve this item. Motion carried 3 - 0.
