Proclamation naming July 19, 2018 as Captain Walter S. Fant Day in the City of Weatherford. Mayor Pro Tem Robinson issued a proclamation to Emmett Fox and members of the Worthington family naming July 19, 2018 as Captain Walter S. Fant Day.

Update on Marshall Park Shannon Goodman, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Special Events presented this update. Mr. Goodman stated that Marshall Park opened last Thursday on June 19th. Parks staff will install landscaping in the fall when the weather is cooler; however, they wanted to go ahead and open the parks for kids to enjoy during the summer. This park now has a playground, a splash pad with a recirculated water system, and a covered pavilion area which is available for rent. Further work will be done between now and October, including rock work and fencing around the parking lot. No action was required or taken. Update on Code Enforcement Efforts Craig Farmer, Director of Development and Neighborhood Services, presented this item. He presented information about recent Building and Standards Commission cases, as well as before and after pictures. He also provided data about several types of code complaints. During July and August, focus areas will include weedy lots, bandit signs, illegal watering, illegal banners on main corridors, illegal display of tires for sale, and stacking of vehicles on used car lots. No action was required or taken.
