4.a: Service Awards • Steven Woods - Water Utilities - 5 years • Devrus Deal - Water Utilities - 10 years
6.a: Receive an annual update and consider taking action to modify the Lake Benbrook Pumping Reserve Policy. Director of Water Utilities Rick Shaffer presented this item. Mr. Shaffer gave a brief overview and reminded the board that the objective of this policy is to mitigate the cost of purchasing and pumping water from Lake Benbrook through the Tarrant Regional Water District contracts in times of drought. After discussion, it was the direction of the board to maintain the current policy. No action was required or taken on this matter.
6.b: Discuss and consider a recommendation to the City Council to form an advisory committee to review the Roadway, Water and Wastewater Impact Fee Program - 2026 Update. Director of Public Works Matt Leppla presented this item. After discussion regarding the committee member selection process, on the motion of Zack Smith, second by Ken Davis, the MUB01292026 Page 1 of 3 board voted to make a recommendation to council that the selection of the advisory committee members go through the appointment committee process utilized for all other City of Weatherford board and commission members. Motion carried 6 - 0.
7.a: Lake Weatherford Trail Update Director of Public Works Matt Leppla presented this item. Mr. Leppla gave a brief overview of staff’s recommendations for the Lake Weatherford Trail project. After discussion, the board provided the following direction. Implement the project in two phases. Phase one will consist of the design of both phase one and phase two. Phase one will also include the construction of the trail with a connection to the Lakeway Addition, and will continue south on the same side of the roadway. Completion of phase one is expected in the 2026 fiscal year. Phase two will include the construction of the remainder of the trail and will be accomplished immediately following the completion of the WPP Phase II-IV Expansion project which is currently anticipated by the end of 2028.
7.b: Quarterly Performance Dashboard Directors of Utilities Joe Farley and Rick Shaffer presented this item. This quarterly report is for informational purposes, and no action was required or taken.
Future agenda items: Request for the following: • Discussion on historical drought events that will provide context and understanding related to our pumping reserve fund, and our preparedness for future droughts.
Action on executive session items: Section 551.071: Consultation with Attorney: on the matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter: Lake Weatherford Marina Lease Agreement.
