Receive a report, hold a discussion, and provide feedback to staff regarding the Weatherford Housing Market Analysis. Ms. Williamson joined the meeting at 6:49 p.m. Director of Development and Neighborhood Services Kaleb Kentner provided background information on this item. Mr. Kentner introduced the City’s consultant Mr. Jason Claunch with Catalyst Commercial. Mr. Claunch gave a presentation regarding the housing market analysis. He provided details regarding the purpose and the process. The presentation addressed national housing trends, regional trends, development trends, existing conditions, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, median household income, multifamily development, 5-year outlook, single-family development, Council Retreat feedback, responsible growth, high-quality development, common themes, and developer feedback. The following recommendations were made: • Promote Quality Development o Review Development Standards o Complete and Implement Downtown Master Plan o Complete and Implement Parks Master Plan o Continue Construction of Hike and Bike Trails • Encourage Diverse Housing Types o Approximately 350 New Multi-Family Units through December of 2025 o Update Housing Analysis in 2025 Mayor Paschall summarized the following on behalf of the Council and Commission: • Continue the present course regarding single-family. • Provide information regarding [...]
