Consent agenda, approved as one vote (3-0, on the motion of Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Robinson, second by Curtis Tucker): Approved the minutes of the City Council meeting held February 26, 2019. Authorized the Weatherford Police Department to apply for grant funding offered by the Office of the Governor, DJ-Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program and approved Resolution R2019-09 authorizing the City Manager to execute in the name of the City of Weatherford all necessary applications, contracts, and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes of the grant.
Hold a PUBLIC HEARING and consider approval of Ordinance #O2019-06 for a zoning district change from C-1 Commercial to C-1 Commercial with a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for Auto Repair at 200 W 4th Street, described as being a 0.579-acre tract of land and Lots 9 and 10, and a portion of Lot 11, Block 31, Carters Addition, City of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. ZCH2019-0004. City Planner Stan Hamrick presented this item. This is a zoning change request from C-1 commercial to C-1 commercial with a CUP. The owner/applicant is Trevor Lima and the proposed business is Diesel Performance Specialties, a new light truck repair shop and parts sales. Interior and exterior improvements are proposed to the existing structure, and the site will be improved with new pavement and striping. Improvements are already under way. At their February 27th meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval with the following conditions: • Repair, stripe and provide traffic control interior to the parking lot. • Paint, improve trim and provide masonry wainscoting to existing structure. • Screen proposed storage area and dumpster. • Provide landscaped buffer along west property line with shrubs. • Provide two trees with eight shrubs and five-foot landscaped buffer along 4th Street frontage. • Provide one tree with four shrubs and five-foot landscaped buffer along Hanover Street [...]
Mayor Swancy announced that the public hearing was continued at the previous City Council meeting. Mayor Swancy reopened the public hearing at 6:39 p.m. Stephen Reich, realtor for the property and owner’s representative, stated that he did not have a presentation but was available for questions, if any. As there were no other speakers, Mayor Swancy closed the public hearing at 6:40 p.m. On the motion of Curtis Tucker, second by Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Robinson, the Council voted to approve this item with the aforementioned conditions.
