3.a: Consider approval of Chapter 380 Economic Development Agreement between The City of Weatherford and Mike Barakat. Director of Economic Development Ashley Seiler presented this item. After discussion, on the motion of Zack Smith, second by Luke Williams, the board voted unanimously to approve this item as presented. Motion carried 5 - 0.
3.b: Consider revisions to the Facade Improvement Grant for the Central Business District. Director of Economic Development Ashley Seiler presented this item. After discussion, on the motion of Zack Smith, second by Luke Williams, the board voted to approve this item as presented at this time. However, the board requested that the policy be reviewed by the City Council and that they set the policy guidelines for the board since it is funded by the taxpayers and the Council Members are elected to represent those taxpayers. Motion carried 4 – 1. Chandler Lacefield voted in opposition.
3.c: Consider a request for a facade improvement grant for 311 North Main Street in an amount not to exceed $84,217. Director of Economic Development Ashley Seiler presented this item. After discussion, on the motion of Luke Williams, second by John Hinton, the board voted unanimously to approve this item as presented. Motion carried 5 - 0.
3.d: Consider a request for a facade improvement grant for 118 College Avenue in an amount not to exceed $13,477.16. WEDB11192025 Page 1 of 2 Director of Economic Development Ashley Seiler presented this item. After discussion, on the motion of John Hinton, second by Luke Williams, the board voted unanimously to approve this item as presented. Motion carried 5 - 0.
3.e: Consider a request for a facade improvement grant for 122 York Avenue in an amount not to exceed $33,525. Director of Economic Development Ashley Seiler presented this item. On the motion of Zack Smith, second by Luke Williams, the board voted unanimously to approve this item as presented. Motion carried 5 - 0.
3.f: Consider a request for a facade improvement grant for 203 North Main Street in an amount not to exceed $101,823.50. Director of Economic Development, Ashley Seiler presented the item. Mrs. Seiler noted that the property is unique in that it features two street-facing façades. Under the city’s current façade grant policy, applications are submitted per address, and eligible improvements may be considered for any side of the structure that fronts a public street. After discussion, On the motion of Luke Williams, second by Zack Smith, the board voted unanimously to approve the grant for the facade improvements for the front of the building at 203 North Main Street for an amount not to exceed $13,392.50. Motion carried 5 - 0.
3.g: Consider a request for a facade improvement grant for 209 North Main Street in an amount not to exceed $22,227. Director of Economic Development Ashley Seiler presented this item. Jackie Fowler, 400 Thompson Road, spoke regarding awning construction. After discussion, on the motion of Zack Smith, second by John Hinton, the board voted unanimously to approve this item as presented. Motion carried 5 - 0.
