5.a: Proclamation declaring October 2024 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the City of Weatherford. The City Council presented a proclamation to Freedom House of Parker County declaring the month of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the City of Weatherford.
Consent agenda, approved as one vote: 7.a: Authorized the City Manager to execute a professional services contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for preparation of the Weatherford Comprehensive Safety Action Plan through the Safe Streets and Roads for All Program grant in an amount not to exceed $280,000. 7.b: Authorized the procurement of pavement resurfacing services from Reynolds Asphalt and Construction Company through an existing contract with Grand Prairie under an interlocal agreement in an amount not to exceed $1,034,000. 7.c: Authorized renewing Bid# 2022-026 for Annual Aggregate and Materials for Road Improvements, items 1, 2, 3, and 4 in an amount not to exceed $700,000 for FY25. 7.d: Authorized the City Manager to execute a professional engineering services contract with Kimley Horn and Associates for the design of Kirkpatrick Drive Phase 2 in an amount not to exceed $491,500. 7.e: Approved the purchase of a vehicle from Doggett Freightliner of Austin, through the interlocal purchase system TIPS in the amount of $280,041.10. The M2 106 Plus Freightliner truck will include a Heil Powertrack Commercial 25-yard trash body installed. 7.f: Authorized the procurement of waste disposal services through Waste Connections, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $410,000. 7.g: Approved the purchase of a 2024 Ford F-250 4X4 Crew Cab XL from Chastang Enterprises Houston LLC, dba Chastang Ford, through Texas BuyBoard contract 724-23 in the amount of $57,822.
8.a: Consider approval of Resolution R2024-23 accepting a petition concerning the creation of the LaSalle Ranch Public Improvement District. Assistant City Manager Chad Marbut presented this item and explained that if adopted, the resolution would accept the petition to create the LaSalle Ranch Public Improvement District within Weatherford's city limits and schedule a Public Hearing for the November 19, 2024, City Council meeting. On the motion of Luke Williams, second by Matt Ticzkus, the Council voted unanimously to adopt Resolution R2024-23. The motion carried 4 - 0.
