Consider the Preliminary Preferred Scenario for the Weatherford General Plan. Craig Farmer, Director of Planning and Development, gave a brief introduction regarding the Preferred Preliminary Scenario (PPS) and introduced Karen Walz. Ms. Walz reviewed the work that has been done with the Advisory Committee (AC) towards the development of the PPS. The recommendations from the AC include: 1) using Downtown Focus instead of Business as Usual; 2) using Concentrated Retail instead of Business as Usual on the Ric Williamson Loop, as well as including potential for hotels and event/conference centers; 3) using a combination of Suburban Living, Agriculture, and Cluster Residential while balancing population with jobs in agriculture areas; and 4) continuing Business as Usual in other areas. Approximately 75 percent of the AC agreed that the PPS is consistent with their own view of Weatherford's best possible future. Approximately 55 percent of the Committee agreed that the current trends/business as usual is very inconsistent with their own view of Weatherford's best possible future.
