The Parker County Commissioners Court met in session Aug. 20, 2024 at the courthouse in Weatherford. What the court decided, as the minutes record it:

Authorization to apply for and accept Senate Bill 22 Rural Law Enforcement Grants. Motion by Commissioner Walden, seconded by Commissioner Holt, to approve; carried.

PCSO Patrol Building, Mobile Modular Change Order. Motion by Commissioner Walden, seconded by Commissioner Hale, to approve; carried.

Present/Discuss/Approve general fund budget for 2024-2025. UPDATE ONLY/NO ACTION.

Building & Grounds Projects & Budget Requests Update. No action taken.

IT Projects & Budget Requests Update. Motion by Commissioner Conley, seconded by Commissioner Holt, to go ahead and do the $40,000 contingency money and $14,264; carried.

Additional Employee Salary Requests and/or New Positions. Motion by Commissioner Walden, seconded by Commissioner Hale, to fund those employees for Transport at the Sheriff’s Office; carried.

Capital & Non-Capital Budget Requests. The following motions were made: * Motion was made by Commissioner Walden and seconded by Commissioner Holt to approve the vehicles and equipment necessary for the operation of those two new employees. Motion by Commissioner Conley, seconded by Judge Deen, to approve the requested vehicles for Dept’s 562, 563 566 and 568, of the Sheriffs Dept; carried.

Present/Discuss/A pprove general fund budget for 2024-2025. The following motions were made: Kim Rivas, Purchasing Agent requested approval for requests in the Contract Services Line. * Motion was made by Commissioner Walden and seconded by Commissioner Hale to approve the Axon and Cad licenses for Dispatch. Motion by Commissioner Walden, seconded by Commissioner Hale, to approve up to $39,000 for the body and car cameras that have been requested; carried.

Salaries and Benefits for Elected Officials. No action taken.

Salaries and Benefits for Non-Elected Employees. No action taken.

Additional Employee Salary Requests and/or New Positions. Motion by Commissioner Conley, seconded by Commissioner Hale, to approve the two positions requested by the Sheriffs Office (1 criminal investigator and 1 financial crimes); carried.

General Budget Updates. Comments were heard from the following citizens: the residents are counted in the minutes and not named here.

Health Insurance for Retirees, Post 65 supplement rates. Motion by Commissioner Walden, seconded by Commissioner Holt, to approve the updated rates as presented by County Treasurer Becky McCullough; carried.

Additional Employee Salary Requests and/or New Positions. Minutes: Budget Session August 20, 2024 Page 4 The following motions were made: * Motion was made by Commissioner Walden and seconded by Commissioner Holt to approve an increase in salary for an employee in Constable 2 office, as presented by County Treasurer Becky McCullough. Motion by Commissioner Holt, seconded by Judge Deen, to remove the request of the Tax assessor for I additional employee, just for this year, and expect to have it added for consideration next budget year; carried.

Present/Discuss/Approve Precincts Fund 50 and Funds 1-4 for Budget FY2024-2025. Brianna Fowler, County Auditor, presented information to the court. No action taken.
