Proclamation for Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month. Mayor Pro Tern Robinson proclaimed May 2018 as " Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month" in the CityofWeatherford. Proclamationfor National Day ofPrayer. Mayor ProTern Robinson proclaimed May 3, 2018 as" DayofPrayer" in the City ofWeatherford.

Discuss downtown mobility. City Manager Sharon Hayes stated that the purpose of this Work Session is to briefthe Council on the status ofthis project and ensure that everyone is workingwith facts. Traffic congestion in the intersection of SH 51/ 171 and US 80/180 is problematic and has been identified as a concern for years. For the first time, the Cityhas been able to secure partial fundingfor a solution. Another goal ofthis Work Session is to address misinformation and incorrect statements that have been mentioned and or circulated on social media.Routeshave not been selected. Options for a southernroute have notbeenstudied.There are many options that accomplish the goal ofeliminating traffic at the courthouse. Council and staffare concerned about citizens and about helping build strong communities andwill notdo anything contrary tothat. The official web site dedicated to this project is www.heritagesquareweatherford.com. Ms. Hayes asked for questions to be submitted in writing and stated that the answers will be posted on the web site. Since others may have similar questions, answers will be provided in writing, which will also help minimize confusion. A Town Hall meeting will be held on April 30th at 5:30 p.m. for residents and or business owners in the historic areas north and south of 80/180.
