Discuss Library operations and funding sources. Chris Accardo, Director of Library Services, presented this item. The Parker County Library Association (PCLA) includes the following libraries: Azle Memorial Library; Boyce Ditto Public Library (Mineral Wells); East Parker County Library; Millsap Public Library; Springtown Public Library; and Weatherford Public Library. Mr. Accardo presented the following chart regarding County library funding in FY2016: Mr. Accardo reviewed the following PCLA Statistics for FY2017 for WPL cardholders: • Number of items borrowed through courier: 7,701 • Number of items checked out at other PCLA locations: 19,078 • Estimated value of PCLA participation (average item value $14.21): $380,529.60 • 45% of estimated value of PCLA participation: $171,238.30 According to the 2016 Individual Library Statistics and Comparison Charts compiled by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, Mr. Accardo presented the following: • Statewide Number of Public Libraries: 549 • Statewide Number not funded by County at all: 232 • Statewide Number with 50% or more of operating revenue from County: 128 o The average operating revenue received from the County is $706,327.84 (95.33%) • Statewide Number with less than 50% of operating revenue from County: 190 o The average operating revenue received from the County is $49,608 (8.21%) Statistics in the 17-County [...]
