Approval of Minutes – January 23, 2025. The minutes of the January 23, 2025 meeting were reviewed. Following review and discussion Director Barnett made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Director Floyd seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Review of and vote to approve Financial Statements/Reports. Director Barnett noted that the Finance Committee met with Ms. Harris earlier and reviewed all the financial statements and reports. Following review and discussion, Director Barnett made a motion to approve the financial statements and reports as presented. Director Floyd seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Reports from Parker County Hospital District Departments. EMS: Mr. Backus reported that January was a steady month with 1,366 calls. Two Cardiac Arrest Survivors were honored during the month of January. Christopher Haney and Gregory Long were both recognized along with their families. The two had an opportunity to meet with the firefighters and paramedics that participated in their rescue as well as sign the plaque on the EMS wall. There are still several Cardiac Arrest Survivors that EMS will be inviting for future ceremonies. Mr. Backus noted that the Citizen’s EMS Academy recently donated AEDs to Memory Gardens, Poolville Global Methodist Church and the Parker County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Backus noted that the Academy is doing a good job of distributing AEDs throughout the County. Mr. Backus announced that the Academy will be holding a fundraiser on May 3rd at Weatherford High School from 4PM to 8 PM. Dr. Bertrand thanked the Board of Directors for their support of EMS. He noted that the Parker County Hospital District EMS program has a solid reputation in the DFW community and is considered one of the more innovative agencies in the area. Return to Open Session, address, and possible vote on any issues outstanding from. Executive Session: The Board reconvened into Open Session at 1:45 PM. No action was taken.
Discussion and possible vote to approve all contracts and resolutions necessary for. transition to a new manager for College Park and Springtown Nursing Homes, including authorizing CEO to sign all agreements: Mr. Jackson gave a brief history of the Hospital District’s participation in the QIPP Program noting that it has benefited both the Hospital District and the nursing homes that participate in the program. Mr. Jackson noted that occasionally the operators of the entities sell their interest in their nursing homes to other entities for a variety of reasons. Mr. Jackson noted that this recently happened with the nursing homes in College Park and in Springtown. The Hospital District has partnership agreements under the QIPP program with both nursing homes which are currently owned by the same entity. Accordingly, since they are selling to a new owner, it is necessary for the Hospital District to execute new QIPP documents with the new owner. In order to execute these documents, staff is requesting that the Board approve all contracts and resolutions necessary to execute new QIPP documents including authorizing the CEO to sign all necessary agreements.
