Compiled from the record with an editor

Today is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election, per VoteTexas.gov

Why it matters. The county's cover page says $2,823,841, or 92 percent, of that increase is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, and that the tax rate used in the budget is the same as the no-new-revenue rate.

Registration applications must be postmarked or received by Oct. 5 for the Nov. 3, 2026 election, per VoteTexas.gov, and the Secretary of State's calendar puts early voting at Oct. 19 through Oct. 30. The Municipal Utility Board's Aug. 27 minutes, now on Granicus, record a 5-0 vote recommending that the council approve the agreement creating and initially funding the Parker County Public Utility Agency, the item the council's Sept. 22 agenda carried as Resolution R2026-20; the Sept. 22 council and Sept. 24 utility board minutes are still not posted as of 5:19 a.m., 13 and 11 days after the meetings. Parker County is one of 191 counties on the Texas A&M Forest Service burn-ban list stamped 10:26 a.m. Sunday, one fewer than the list the Ledger carried Oct. 4, and today is sunny with a high near 81.

$3,086,126

More total property taxes than last year's budget in Parker County's adopted 2026-27 budget, or 3.7 percent, per the statement on the budget's cover page, stamped received and filed for record by the county clerk Sept. 28: $4,070,514 more for General Fund Maintenance and Operations, $381,715 more for the Lateral Road and Bridge Fund and a $1,366,103 decrease for Debt Service. The detail report generated Sept. 29 totals the budget at $138,745,487 across all funds. More
