The minutes of the board's Aug. 27 meeting, listed with that meeting on Granicus, record that on the motion of Ken Davis, second by Dr. Tom Novak, the board voted 5-0 to make a recommendation to City Council to approve an agreement regarding the creation and initial funding of the Parker County Public Utility Agency, after Director of Water Utilities Rick Shaffer reviewed the information presented in July. The council's Sept. 22 agenda carried that recommendation as item 7.e, Resolution No. R2026-20 to join in the formation of the agency and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement; the Sept. 22 minutes are not posted, so the Ledger has not reported the council's vote. Also on Aug. 27: on the motion of Ken Davis, second by Kevin Cleveland, the board voted 5-0 to appoint Zack Smith as Vice Chair, Kevin Cleveland to the Risk Management Committee and Dr. Tom Novak to the Audit Committee; Budget Coordinator Ashley Esquivel presented the FY27 Proposed Municipal Utility System Budget, with approval to be requested at the Sept. 24 meeting; Hudson Oaks City Administrator Sterling Naron gave a final update on the Wholesale Wastewater Contract between the Weatherford Municipal Utility System and the City of Hudson Oaks; and the board met in executive session from 1:05 to 1:51 p.m. on security devices or security audits at the Water Purification Plant, with no action taken. Present were Mayor/Chair Paul Paschall, Zack Smith, Kevin Cleveland, Ken Davis and Dr. Tom Novak; absent were Howard McClurkin and Rod White. The meeting was called to order at 12:01 p.m. and adjourned at 1:52 p.m.
