Kangaroos fall 17-60 at Arlington Martin in the district opener; 2-2 per MaxPreps; Arlington Sam Houston comes to Kangaroo Stadium Friday

The Sept. 18 result at Arlington Martin, the first district game, was 17-60, per MaxPreps, and the record stands at 2-2. Friday's game against Arlington Sam Houston, 7 p.m. at Kangaroo Stadium, is the first home district game.

Volleyball: 3-0 over Arlington Lamar and 3-1 at Granbury; at Aledo tonight

Weatherford beat Arlington Lamar 3-0 on Sept. 15 at the NGC Activity Center and won 3-1 at Granbury on Sept. 18, per Weatherford ISD Athletics. The Kangaroos play at Aledo High School at 6:30 p.m. tonight and host Arlington Bowie at 5 p.m. Friday.

Weatherford College Rodeo Team, recognized by the council Sept. 8

Firefighter Jacob Diaz

Weatherford Firefighter Jacob Diaz completed the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Comerica Bank Tower in Dallas to honor those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, the council heard Sept. 8. The same night the council presented a proclamation to the Weatherford Daughters of the American Revolution declaring Sept. 17-23, 2026 Constitution Week in the City of Weatherford.
