On Oct. 26, commissioners approved a Motorola Solutions service agreement for the county's emergency radio system through Sept. 30, 2027, at $698,855 a year, and more than $230,000 in road equipment and trucks through BuyBoard: a $91,799 crack-seal machine for Precinct 3 and two Chevrolet Silverado trucks for Precinct 2 at $68,393.27 and $72,059.06, The Community News reported. They also approved ballistic door panels for sheriff's vehicles, paid from an Office of the Governor grant. Freese and Nichols engineering was approved for four projects: realigning Shadle Road at FM 920 ($75,200, Precinct 2); a $74,758 amendment for Carter Road at Highway 51, where TxDOT has set aside $2.2 million to add a dedicated turn lane; a $155,000 amendment adding a roundabout to the Church Road extension off FM 730 (Precinct 1); and work on FM 113 at Millsap.
