City Council approves Heritage Park Estates annexation, rezoning and development agreement

Council on Tuesday approved the landowner's request to annex the 48-acre Heritage Park Estates tract and adjacent parts of Causbie Road and Old Airport Road, then approved the rezoning and development agreement, The Community News reported. Development Services Director Scott McDonald said city services would take effect once the annexation was approved, at the same fees other residents pay. Asked during the hearing why only part of the subdivision was included, City Manager James Hotopp said some lots had already been sold and could not be annexed without their owners' request, and that a small piece to the west is owned by Weatherford ISD as a potential elementary school site. Council also approved a conditional use permit for a RaceTrac fueling station at 1802 Old Brock Road, renewing one that expired Aug. 26, and moved its Feb. 23, 2027, meeting to Feb. 22 for Parker County Day in Austin. The city has not posted minutes.
