Weatherford ISD is taking applications for a community Facility Planning Committee through Friday, Oct. 9, with four meetings planned from Oct. 26 to Jan. 7, per the district's Sept. 21 notice. The committee will examine the district's long-term facility and capital needs and help develop recommendations for the Board of Trustees; the notice says the work does not assume that a bond proposal will move forward. Four committee meetings are planned, Oct. 26, Nov. 9, Dec. 7 and Jan. 7, 2027, with times and locations to be announced when finalized. Applicants must live within Weatherford ISD boundaries; the application form is linked from the district's notice.

The Texas A&M Forest Service list stamped 9:59 a.m. Sept. 30 carries 215 counties under a burn ban, Parker County among them, with Tarrant, Hood, Palo Pinto, Wise, Johnson, Jack, Erath, Somervell and Denton also listed. The list stamped 8:24 a.m. Sept. 29, as the Ledger carried it Sept. 30, had 216.

The deadline to register and be eligible to vote in the Nov. 3, 2026 election is Oct. 5, 2026, either the postmark date or the date the application is received by the county voter registrar, per VoteTexas.gov; the same day is the last day for a change of address to take effect for the election. Early voting runs Oct. 19 through Oct. 30.
