The quarterly report in Thursday's Parks & Recreation Advisory Board packet says the city "executed a construction contract with Patcon Services, LLC for the Lake Weatherford Beach project, with an estimated completion in Spring 2027," and "approved Whirlix Design, Inc. for the construction of the playground at Holland Lake, with an estimated completion in Summer 2027." At Chandor Gardens, staff "confirmed Oak Wilt on Simmon's Driveway through Texas A&M, began tree removal, identified priority trees for treatment, and pursued additional treatment funding." Crews also introduced "goat scaping" to clear vegetation from the Heritage Park canal and Lake Weatherford hillsides and repaired the Friendship Park zip line.

Cherry Park Pool closed Aug. 9, with operations extended so the Weatherford ISD swim team could keep using it; Camp Wrangler had 130 participants. The report lists 266 swim lessons booked, 190 field reservations at Holland Lake, First Monday Trade Days at 366, 308 and 366 reserved spaces for July, August and September, and 176 facility service requests completed. Renovations continue at the Service Center and at 118 Columbia, where an addition's slab has been poured. The board meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday; the agenda gives Mount Pleasant, 213 Raymond George Way, and the city calendar gives 303 Palo Pinto Street.
